DP0POL on 14 MHz WSPR

 

 

 

The German research vessel RV Polarstern was received earlier this evening with weak WSPR signal on 14 MHz.

Polarstern currently operates in the Norwegian Sea.

Με λύπη διάβασα χθές στο blog του SV1BJY την επιβεβαίωση της πληροφορίας του θανάτου του Ντίνου Ψιλογιάννη SV1DB εξ αιτίας της πρόσφατης επιδημίας COVID-19. 

Ο Ντίνος ήταν από τους σημαντικότερους Έλληνες ραδιοερασιτέχνες. Ίδρυσε την Ε.Ε.Ε.Ρ. (1968) και μέσα από αυτήν προσέφερε την δυνατότητα απόκτησης ραδιοερασιτεχνικής άδειας σε πολλούς συναδέλφους, που το κατεστημένο της εποχής κρατούσε στο "ψυγείο".

Επίσης είχε μεγάλη τεχνική εμπειρία στις εγκαταστάσεις κεραιών και κεραιοσυστημάτων για μεγάλες εγκαταστάσεις και αποτελούσε μια ανεξάντλητη πηγή πληροφοριών για το θέμα.

During a recent visit to Romania and Northern Greece, I managed to hear a few local NDBs using a Sangean ATS-909 portable radio:

The ATS-909 is bulky by current standards and not sensitive in the NDB band, so it is, perhaps, the last time I take it with me.
